Foundations

At CrossFit Kelowna we believe in immersing our new members into the group atmosphere immediately. The group is where the competition and camaraderie lives and that is what drives our program. We also require (and encourage!) all of our members to take our Foundations Class as soon as possible, and as often as they wish. We run these classes every month.

The Foundations Class is a 3-4 hour session where we teach you the 9 foundational CrossFit movements.

  • squat
  • front squat
  • overhead squat
  • press
  • push press
  • push jerk
  • deadlift
  • sumo-deadlift high pull
  • medicine ball clean

We also teach you some of the more common things we do ie:

  • kipping pull-ups
  • kettlebell swings
  • ghd situps
  • hip/back extensions
  • glute-ham raise
  • rope climbs
  • and more...

Taking this class as soon as possible will really improve the learning curve in class.
